I’m Sylvia Perez, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern providing individual and couples counseling under clinical supervision. I am pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Long Island University Post.

My goal is to help you better understand yourself, navigate difficult experiences, and make changes that feel meaningful to you. Whether you are facing anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or an unexpected life transition, our work together offers space to explore what you are feeling without the pressure to have everything figured out.

My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and direct. I value honest conversations and a supportive environment where you can feel comfortable expressing yourself. Together, we can explore the connection between your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and relationships while developing tools to help you manage everyday challenges.

I have a particular interest in supporting people navigating infertility, IVF, pregnancy loss, and the grief that comes when life unfolds differently than expected. My own experience with IVF and pregnancy loss informs the care and sensitivity I bring to this work. I understand how deeply these experiences can affect your relationships, your sense of self, and your hopes for the future. I also recognize that every person’s story is different, and I make space for yours without assumptions about how you should feel or what comes next.

My counseling experience also includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, boundaries, and major life changes. I am interested in supporting people adjusting to chronic or newly diagnosed health conditions and the emotional challenges that can accompany them. In individual and couples sessions, I help clients explore their needs, recognize patterns, and strengthen communication and coping skills.

I believe therapy should make room for your whole story, including your culture, values, beliefs, relationships, and strengths. We will work together to understand what matters to you and identify steps toward a life that feels more connected to who you are and what you need.
